Whether you are coming for the first time or the fourth time, there is no denying that there is magic in South Morocco.
In the land that stretches from Marrakech, over and through the High Atlas Mountains and along the other side towards the red sands of the Sahara Desert, lies south Morocco. A land of rich oasis and valleys, filled with date palms, walnut groves, apple trees and nomads. A place where the hustle and bustle of the cities fades away and leaves you nothing but soul, and sand, and quiet.
Venture to south Morocco and explore the lands that have been inhabited by the Amazigh people since the dawn of man. Enjoy the fondly named Happy Valley, or Ait Bougmez, so named by the French because you can’t help but be happy in this rich, beautiful valley filled with the heart of Morocco and all its bounty.
Arrive in Marrakech and spend a few days wandering the souks and getting to know the local culture and food. Then you will head south west, through the mountains and untouched lands to Ouzoud Falls and then on to a little known village called Bin El Oudane where you will stay in a local guesthouse near the side of a lake. Peacefulness knows no bounds here.
Head off the next day to Happy Valley where you will enjoy some hiking along a riverbed and meet the locals who use the land to live from and who will greet with you open hearts. Learn to make bread and eat traditional tagine made from only local produce.
After the magic of the Happy Valley you will explore deeper into south Morocco with a journey to the Sahara Desert for a night of camping and then drive back along the southern route towards Marrakech and enjoy the drive over the High Atlas Mountains.
