Sahara Desert Trek from Marrakech - 3 Days

Sahara Desert Trek from Marrakech

Fulfill your dreams to visit the Sahara Desert in a camel caravan.

Your driver will pick you up at your riad in Marrakech for a trip up and over the High Atlas mountains outside Marrakech. Marvel at the country side and rural life as you pass by Berber villages and flocks of sheep at the road side.

Stop for a visit at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and Ouarzazate before settling for the night in a full service hotel in the Dades Valley.

Enjoy the Dades Gorge, Todgha Gorge and Erfoud, the date capital of Morocco.

Arrive at the desert base and transfer to your camel for a slow and magical ride into your camp. Nomads will make you dinner tonight and entertain you fireside with drum music.

The adventure of a lifetime. Enjoy it on your own terms, with a private vehicle and driver. Its worth a few extra Euro to see the south on your terms, avoid the large bus tours and come with us!

Day 1
Dades Valley

Your driver will pick you after breakfast at your riad in Marrakech.

Travel over the High Atlas Mountains to Tizi n Tichka pass at 2260m above sea level. Down the other side you will travel past Berber villages and homes set on the hillsides. Watch out for goats and sheep on the roadside as you make your way towards Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

Take a walk across the river bed and explore this amazing kasbah. Still home to a few families and used a set for Game of Thrones, Ait Ben Haddou is great living example of kasbah architecture.

On you will go to Ouarzazate for a look at the famous kasbah there and the Atlas Studios, set for many modern films.

Heading deep south you will spend the first night in Dades Valley in a luxury hotel with a pool and beautiful local interior design. Dinner in included tonight at the hotel.

Day 2
Sahara Camp at Erg Chebbi

After breakfast you will pass through the deep south of Morocco where Berber life remains virtually unchanged from centuries ago. You will pass through Dades Gorge and on to Todgha Gorge for a hike on the riverbed. Pass the Roses Valley and Tinghir and on through Tinjedad to Merzouga.

Head off the main roads and in to the desert to meet your camels. After some refreshing mint tea, you will amble into the dunes on your camel. Watch the sunset from the top of the nearest dune once you get to camp and then settle in for a night of great food and fireside drum music. Share stories of your Moroccan adventure with other travellers and make memories that will last a lifetime.
